The restoration of HKY 770 September 24th 2006 to 25th May 2007. Also pictures as the car goes out and about.

My initial contact was with Edmund Nankivell registrar of both the Jupiter section of the Jowett Car Club and also the JupiterOwners Automobile Club. I said I was looking for a project. He pointed me in the direction of several people who had cars for sale and suggested I go and see a few. He has been unstinting with advice, information and even parts when the going got tough. If you wish to do something similar I can only advise you to consult him.

Secondly my thanks must go to Mike Smailes, well known in Jowett circles, who was for me the man who knew the answers when neither Edmund, Alan Fishburn or I did, he also introduced me to a whole host of people who made the project possible.

Alan Fishburn, what can I say. He has a web site Alan Fishburn and as you will see has a garage in Darlington specializing in Mk4 VW Golfs. Cars are his passion and old cars seem to make him smile more. He has rebuilt 5 Jowett Jupiters and to say I am impressed with the calibre and breadth of his skills would be like describing the Sahara desert as a bit of sand. He took the car to bits told me what he needed and when he needed it. He tolerated my changes of mind cheerfully, made decisions when asked and was equally happy to have his advice ignored (usually a bad idea) or accepted. Please e-mail me if you want a reference for him Alastair Gregg

The only work Alan did not do was the trimming. The trimmers do not have a web site but are not unsurprisingly called Autotrimming Ltd, 4 Ennis Square, Redcar, TS10 5JR. 01642 470081 Dick was my contact.

Prestige Electro Plating Unit 6 Cliff Street Industrial Estate, Mexborough S64 9HU Tel. 01709 577004 did all the plating, I don't know of a web site but a phone call to them would confirm. Excellent work.

Spare parts came from both clubs and Bill Lock and Associates Other web sites which I used :- Paul Beck of Vintage supplies : Holden Vintage and Classic Supplies : Mota - Lita : Paints4u : Speedograph Richfield : Earl Part Ltd : Longstone Tyres : The engine was built by Dennis Sparrow he supplied parts and is due to do some special tweaking :

There will inevitably be companies and people I have missed out and so, to them, I apologise.
